One day I sat town to write a book about terrorism and decided that an anthrax attack might be a good place to start. As an avid reader of John Grisham - whose use of politics in "The Pelican Brief" set a high standard for me - and Tess Gerritsen who uses medicine so effectively, I decided to write a medical thriller that incorporated the Centers for Disease Control in which terrorists use biological warfare and bioterrorism in New York City. The result has been "Tranquillity Initiative," the story about biological warfare which gets out of control of the government's hands and returns to New York to create havoc on the city. Once the terror alerts reach the CDC, and Cassandra Williams is sent to the city to investigate what they believe to be a biological warfare attach, the story becomes a run to prevent the terrorists from infecting millions.
Panetta says America can't fight two wars at the same time... it cant fight one war at a time if you count winning. It would be better to focus on benefits than on trying to wage asymetrical wars that it hasn't and can't win going forward.
